Full Description:
FILM PROGRAMS @ OPL
The 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month are film nights in the Gainey Room at the Owatonna Public Library. All films start at 7:00 p.m. and are free of charge. All films are announced in advance in the library column in the Owatonna People’s Press. We will also notify via email. For information on film titles or to add your name to our film list, call the library at 444-2460.
On the 2nd Tuesdays we have showings from Film Movement's Independent Film Series. See information on the upcoming film below. 4th Tuesdays are "Movie of the Month" nights at the Library. If you have an OPL library card you can click on the link below for information on the current “Movie of the Month”.
Unless otherwise specified, all evening film programs are intended for mature audiences and may portray adult situations. Under 17 will not be admitted without adult supervision.
Independent Film Series
November Independent Film Series film cancelled (OPL is closed on Veteran's Day)
Look for details coming soon on the December offering in this series!
The 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., the library shows films from Film Movement, a company which provides award-winning, first run, independent and foreign films from top festivals around the world – Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, etc. These are films that are not widely distributed in the U.S.
Movie of the Month
Tuesday, November 25 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Gainey Room
The 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. the Library shows films which include current award winners, classics, film noir, foreign films, documentaries and many other film genres. We choose titles that have not been shown locally, providing the filmgoer with an opportunity to see critically acclaimed films in a theater setting. Due to copyright restrictions, we are unable to advertise these titles outside of the library. We consider any and all suggestions from our audience but films in this series must be covered by our public performance contract.
